Basic Responsibilities:

Review
loan files (electronic or paper) for completeness
and accuracy
-
Verify
that loan credit attributes fall within appropriate
guidelines, including debt to income ratios, LTV or
LTC restrictions
-
Verify
borrower credit histories
-
Verify
mortgage loan payment histories
-
Execute
fraud detection checks
-
Complete
compliance reviews for local regulations, including
predatory lending statutes
-
Extrapolate data from required disclosures
-
Perform
appraisal reviews to determine completeness,
quality, and accuracy of valuation
-
Review
title and deed documentation to verify appropriate
vesting and ownership interest and appropriate lien
history
-
Work
with quality control leads and project lead to
complete projects and clarify job-level issues,
including reviewing and resolving data discrepancies
and exceptions

Assess
overall credit risks and issue an opinion
Required Skills:

General
knowledge of mortgage underwriting standards and
practices (residential or commercial)

Ability
to work in fast paced environment with consistent
productivity while maintaining a high level of
quality, accuracy and professionalism

Ability
to adapt to various work environments

Ability
to learn about lending practices in other countries,
including new terminology and new credit risk
measurements, quickly
Experience:
-
3+ years
mortgage underwriting (residential or commercial)
experience
-
Experience should include both prime and sub-prime
loans
-
Experience with distressed and non-performing loans
is a plus
